Welcome

to Hannah's blog. Hannah, a happy healthy 7 year old was diagnosed on January 30, 2007 with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor.

It's new

I know it's new, and lots of junk still here, but it's a new template I'm trying out. Still lots of work to do, we'll see!!

Who is this Boston Girl?

Treatment Day #28. Our countdown only has 2 days to go. This does become routine after this long, so coming home will mean a change in that routine (however strange that may sound). There are so many wonderful people here, therapists, doctors, nurses, other patients, etc. and we will really miss everyone. We have met some other patients here who have become good friends, and who we will cherish for a lifetime.

On our last weekend, Dave came up on Friday. Hannah wasn't really feeling that well this weekend, but we still got out of the hospital each day. We went to browse the mall with Hannah, a great therapy session since she spends most of the time walking and pushing her wheelchair. Saturday we went to the Museum of Natural History at Harvard, what an amazing place! Here is a picture of Hannah with a giant turtle shell, it was huge! We relaxed at the hotel and Hannah got to swim again. It was very busy in Boston this weekend, since so many runners and their families were in town for the Boston marathon. I didn't realize that so many people run for a specific cause to raise money. A man came up to us in the mall who noticed Hannah and could spot her as a surgery patient. He was running for Boston Childen's hospital here in Boston, last year he ran the Chicago marathon for Chicago Children's. His son had a brain tumor, a bit different from Hannah's, when he was 5 and is a happy 8 year old now. So nice to hear.

Our love and thanks to all of you again for all of your prayers and support. Kim

OH NO HANNAH---Grampa says they haven't made a Boston fan out of you, have they? We hope not!! Yankees rule, remember?!
Tomorrow is your big day and we can't wait to have you come home. Guess what---we even bought some Moose Tracks Ice Cream just for you!! So tomorrow, after your last treatment, BLOW THAT POPSICLE STAND KIDDO and come home to us. You are amazing and doing a spectacular job. When you went shopping in the mall, did Mommy
make you push her in the chair? When you get home, you can help us take Riley for his walks every day and we will tie him to your chair--WOW what a ride that would be!
    Hurry home---we're waiting!!!!
    Hugs and kisses OXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

    Hannah,
We are so excited that it is finally here, the day that you get to go home. Just one more treatment after today and then back to the old grind. Sydney and I are so excited that we will get to see you very soon. You keep up the hard work and also did you know that that hat has a "B" on it and not an NY. Better not let your daddy see you with that hat on. You enjoy that ice cream when you get home and don't let Riley get too crazy.

We love you all and see you soon,
Aunt Susie, Uncle Victor, and Sydney

Hannah, we know you must LOVE the color pink, and that is the real reason that you are wearing that hat that you look so pretty in. We are so happy to hear that you are coming home ! It sounds as though all of your friends are very excited to be seeing you soon. Keep up the good work. Love The Mackins

    Hannah,

My Dad has been wearing a YANKEE HAT! Oh my goodness! 70 years a Red Sox fan and you converted him!

It's a fair trade to see that you like the Red Sox! Now you are a real BOSTONIAN!

Thanks for making my dad laugh and smile during his treatment.

    Brian Griffin (Mr. Griffin's son)
